Denmark’s first Nike store secured by Hines

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – (Realty News Report) – Hines, the Houston-based real estate company, has secured Nike at the “Trinity Quarter” in Copenhagen, marking the first opening of a new Nike store in Denmark.

Nike plans to occupy 7,800 square feet on Købmagergade 44A, one of Copenhagen’s busiest pedestrian shopping streets and is expected to open in September.

“The Trinity Quarter” is an iconic hotel and major commercial renovation in the heart of Copenhagen, which Hines is currently in the process of redeveloping following its acquisition of the buildings in 2018 on behalf of the Hines European Value Fund.

The historic buildings of Købmagergade in Copenhagen have been transformed into a mixed-use development including retail and a 243-room hotel operated by 25hours Hotels which recently opened.

“The Trinity Quarter” was chosen as the new name for the project to reflect its location next to the historic Trinitatis Kirke church on Købmagergade. The new hotel – the first 25hours hotel in Scandinavia – will overlook the square next to the church, which is also the location of Copenhagen’s famous Rundetaarn (Round Tower), one of the city’s main tourist attractions.

The interest we have seen in ‘The Trinity Quarter’ from businesses and the public is fantastic. »

Paul White, Fund Manager for the HEVF Series, added: “Securing this flagship Nike store for the HEVF Trophy shopping district ‘The Trinity Quarter’ is a huge step forward for the project. Nike’s ambitions for the outlet are very exciting and build on the tone already set by the opening of 25hours Hotels, its first in Scandinavia, and the elements of high caliber residential apartments.

Tomer Czapnik, CEO of Nike NSP at Retailors Inc./Fox Group, said: “We are really excited to open our first Nike store in Denmark on such an important street. Hines’ vision and commitment to creating a unique destination was an important factor in our decision to select these premises.
